Media File does not exist - Publishing

Hi,

I've been having an issue with a template I've been using.

When I try to change the media in the template, it says:

"Presentation XXXX references file C:\Users\XXX\XXXX\file.bmp but the file does not exist"

I can see the file mentioned is in that folder but BrightAuthor does not recognize it for some reason.

Also, when I try to add a file to this template, it needs to see all of the previous files that are already there, through the same file structure so I can't use a different computer or an external drive to upload files.

What am I missing here?

If you try to open the file outside of BrightAuthor, does it open normally?

Is there a special character in that path? Trailing space maybe?

Examine the bsp file in a text editor, and look at how the file is being referenced there.

Hi, the file does open normally, it is called START.bmp

I don't see a bsp file in the folder created for this project.

    Thanks.

That would be the BrightAuthor project file that holds your programming.

Exit BA, and open the project file, which is an xml text file. The path to your start.bmp should be there.

Also, you could also try to convert the file to jpg, and see if it fixes that.
