create user with access to only one device or one group

hello,

is it possible to set up a user so it can only see and make modifications to presentations on one group or one device ? it would be a role type 'publisher', but the user should only be able to make changes to one specific group or device, not all devices/groups (in my case one device is part of one group)

please advice

There are a couple ways to do it.  If you don't want the user to create their own presentations, you can build a presentation, publish it and add a dynamic playlist to the presentation. You can then give the user permission to only update that one dynamic playlist. So, they don't necessarily need to know where the playlist is playing, but since you've already published it to the group, they can change content.

This assumes you're talking about the webui on bsn. You can't make this kind of restriction with someone you've given brightauthor access to.

We run our own BSNEE so this is how we do it (based on advice from BrightSign Support):

Create a user with no permissions.

    Create a Group.

Click Properties for that Group and Security tab, then Assigned Users tab.

     Add that user.

Edit the permissions there and give full control.

Allen H. Porter....  Awesome of you to post the BSNEE solution as well!!!  I was just searching for this and came across your post.  Very helpful!  I would also add that the same solution work on Presentations should you want to restrict certain parties to one Presentation only.
    Thanks Again!

    Dwight,

If you run your own BSNEE I would be interested to hear your experiences.
