Time and date font sizes

My main presentation is almost complete, but they are complaining at the size of the date and clock. I tried shortening the format to abbreviations, but the text got bigger. I cannot figure out how to set the clock size, I have tried making the zone smaller, I have tried using safe text area measurements, but the clock cuts off when I do any changes to the size of the zone. 

I tried editing a font file so that there was only one size and uploading it and that didnt work either. I have deleted the zone, deleted the clock, re added the zone, re added the clock, but the results are the same size. All of the font on the presentation is smaller and the clock being huge is really an eye sore. If this is not able to be sized, can I use a html file with a script? 

Any ideas?

  I want to add also, I have searched and found a bunch of OLD posts saying it could not be done, but I figured maybe there has been an update since these were posted.

  Hmm... Ok well for some odd reason, if I preview the presentation, it shows differently than if I publish it. Im previewing changes, and it cuts off the clock, and has a full date, but when I publish, it is abbreviated like I have set and the size fits the narrowed zone.

  Generally speaking, the BA preview can sometimes be useful, but you should ALWAYS test with a real player.

  I would have thought it would have worked, I accidentally published the presentation and noticed it working. Now I know though. Lesson learned, but a bit of time wasted... :-)
