New XD233 not responding

Hi,

The XD233 player I'm using doesn't respond using any variation of HDMI cables or displays. The factory reset function doesn't work. There's just a solid green Pwr light that is on when the power cable is plugged in.

Am I correct in thinking it should at least show some form of display screen before any further setup is required?

    It may be a case of a defective player.

    Normally, when the player boots up, with a display connected, and without SD card inserted, there should be something showing on the screen. You would need to let the player sit for at least two minutes, in case it needs to reboot.

    If there is no LED activity other than the power LED, you may be looking at a defective unit.

    Probably best to reach out to support@brightsign.biz, and have them walk you through some troubleshooting steps, and set you up with RMA, in case they conclude, that the unit is defective.

    DO you know what firmware the player's using? There was an issue when the players first shipped with firmware older than 6.2.63.2. So any player on an older release can get into a stuck state where it appears to be down.

     

    The player will recover, if this is the case, but it usually takes multiple firmware attempts from secure mode using firmware that's newer.
