BrightWall Sync Issues

Hi, Lyndon,

We've been doing some testing of BrightWall recently. For the most part it's worked well, but our video frequently and noticeably falls out of sync by a frame or so at the start of the program (does not appear to be drift). Someone from our team spoke with Jeff at this year's Infocomm and he said that this should be fixable and that I should reach out to you specifically.

We are testing with 4 separate HEVC-encoded videos using 4 XT1143s with firmware 6.2.94. We used BrightWall in BrightAuthor 4.6.

Jeff also mentioned that there was a BrightSign with support for Genlock planned. Is there any timeframe on this?

Thanks.

Mike, did you send in a ticket on this? I didn't see an email in my inbox.

There's no date I can post for genlock, but it's high priority.

Yes, your content shouldn't be falling out of sync. Often it's an encoding issue, but can be network issues as well. If you can send us sample content, we can test.

    Hi, Lyndon,

Thanks for following up with me on this. I found a response from you from almost a month ago, but it didn't get forwarded to my main account for some reason, so I'm just seeing it now. Hence the late response.

In any case, here's a Dropbox link to the content we used:
    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jzs4x5svy4cmtzh/AADWtiSnUBe4kCmha4r4Qi-Ua?dl=0

This was encoded by another team member according to a spec he found on the Brightsign website. I forget the exact spec, but can get it for you if you need it.

As far as genlock goes, the email you sent me was a helpful ballpark. We're awaiting it eagerly and might be able to help with testing, if you could use the help, and time permitting of course.

    Thanks, Lyndon!
