Brightwall on LED display (syncproblems!)

Hi,

Has anyone used a brightwall setup on a ledwall yet? My led is larger than 1920 so I need a seconds processor. I've been trying to get my brightsign outputs framesync for days now, but it doesn't seem to work. On a lcd wall it works fine, since there is no real 'touching' of pixels from one screen to another, but on a led it is very visible. Can someone confirm me that brightwall cannot work framesync so I can stop wasting my time on this subject? I tried all different codecs and CBR/VBR etc... but nothing seems to work. On a system like S3, Modulo, Watchout,... it works fine btw, so no problem with the LED or processing there.

Many thanks as I have been looking to get this fixed for quite some time now.

Firmware 7 introduces output frame sync (genlock) with Enhanced Synchronization.

Prior to firmware 7, output vsync is free on each player, so in cases where the output rate is not exactly matched to the signal (for example, 1920x1200x60p is 59.9xx Hz rather than 60.000 Hz), the partial frame outputs between players are not synchronized.  Thus in stacked or overlapped/edge-blended configurations the overlapped images will mismatch.

Ok but my output frequency is the same as the video FPS. Files are not too large and I even took out the audio. Doesn't really improve the result. Is there someone out there who has got this working? Can someone (preferably a BrighSign engineer) who can confirm this to be working (as in framesync on every output?)

Are your players on firmware 7 (currently in beta)?

I recommend submitting a support ticket along with a download link to an export of your presentation (the export includes the media files).  The forum is intended for user communication so other users can chime in, but to guarantee an official BrightSign answer, a ticket should be submitted.

If you can EXPORT your project and assets using File > Export _project_name_ in BrightAuthor to an empty folder, zip the folder, and send us a download link to the zip, we can take a closer look.

This article describes how to export a project from BrightAuthor:

Files larger than 20 MB will require sending us a link to download. You can upload the file to WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox (right-click, "Copy Dropbox link"), Hightail, or another service that can generate _public_ links or links that do _not_ require an account.

Dropbox.com - if you're not already signed up, signing up through this link will give you 500MB additional storage, for a total of 2.5GB once you install the client software. https://db.tt/0QZE04C

Note that in most cases you need to install the computer client, then copy/move the file(s) to your Dropbox folder on the computer, then you can right-click it and copy or share a link which you can paste into your ticket response.

    Hello:

What LED Processor(s) are you using? NovaStar?

Did you have a Scaler between the BrightSigns and the Processor(s)?

Although not BrightSign specific, in asking around I have heard this happen in similar situations, and that bypassing the Scalers and going direct from source to NovaStar processors HDMI input solves this issue.

Another possible solution that was mentioned would be to use a pair of Barco ImagePRO-II JR's in between BrightSign's and LED Processor's, as the JR's can be gen-locked with each other.
