After a period of time our HD 232 defaults to black screen

On our main entrance we have two brightsigns, both hd232s and the same presentation. The bright sign on the east side keeps getting stuck on a black screen, which doesn't get back to normal until we manually restart the machine. 

It has happened 3 times in the past month and a half. Its not often, but it's happening here and there.

 

Has anyone else encoutered this or have any ideas to fix it?

    Are the presentations set to be synched via enhanced synch?  If so I would guess that the player sticking on black screen is the slave?  The slaves in an enhanced synch project will  get stuck on blck if the do not receive the "synch word" for long enough.  Is the player in question  reachable via a web browser (to its DWS)?  Maybe a network issue.

    I have an HD1020 that started going to a black screen at the beginning of December. It has been running a slideshow of images for about 3 years and now it goes black. I can see it on the network through BrightAuthor and restart it and it runs fine until the next day. I've replaced the SD card, updated the firmware and created a new presentation. I am sending serial command to shut the monitors on/off but It's worked fine until now. If i figure it out i'll post it.

    I am having similar issues with 2 Bright-sign XD 233 players, with a similar setup to yours. I would like to know if you have found a solution to your problem.
