Cannot connect to new players - access denied

Situation:

New install of 3 LS424 players. Created a setup package through BA 1.6.16 including firmware update and setting the LWS and DWS password.

Copied files to SD card, inserted into players and they rebooted, updated the firmware, and took the static IP addresses I assigned them.

I can browse to each device's IP address on the diagnostic web server and port 8080 for the LWS and can log in with the username and password I assigned.

However, in BA, when I try to publish a presentation, the devices show as Access to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx denied. If I click the icon to add username/password it changes to Failed to connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

If I press the refresh button, sometimes I see the name of the unit I assigned before turning to Access denied. One unit briefly had connection I don't know how I did it, but I was able to publish a test presentation to it, but since then all 3 units show as access denied.

No firewall or security software running between the computer and players and everything is on the same local area network.

Please help!

    Quick update, just after I posted this, I noticed if I spam the refresh button, sometimes the units show as connected. For example, I just hit the refresh button like 6-7 times and the first unit showed as connected (the other 2 still access denied). I was able to publish a test presentation to the connected unit.

    I hit the refresh button again another 6,7,8 times and this time unit 3 showed as connected (unit 1 and 2 access denied). I was able to publish the test presentation to this unit.

    I repeated the process again and was finally able to get unit 2 to show as connected and publish a presentation, but obviously something isn't right.

    We've had that issue when the PC is connected both to a LAN AND a WIFI network at the same time.  Disable one or the other (whichever one the BrightSign is not on) and refresh the LFN available devices.  See if that clears up the access  denied message.

    I was indeed using a laptop on wireless, but was NOT connected to the wired network.

    I just switched. I disconnected the wireless and plugged in a cable to the wired network, put in the username/password and now the units are showing as connected in BA. Weird!!

    I am now noticing though when I close BA and reopen it, the units show as access denied. I have to put in the username/password each time to have them connect. Is this normal?
