Video Footage Flickering

I'm currently using an XT1143 BrightSign to display a looping 4 minute video.

It has been consistently working over the last 3 months but now when projector displaying the video is turned on the footage will occasionally show a black screen for a couple of seconds, then the video returns. Sometimes the video will stop altogether.

The projector is connected to the BrightSign via a HDMI cable. The issues started after freezing the projector in certain parts of the video, however, both the projector and the cable have been checked and don't seem to be the issue.

On BA connected, I have matched the frame rate to that of the video (25fps), and set the target resolution to 1920X1080 (the video resolution is 1920X824). I've set the BrightSign OS Update to Minimum Compatible Release 8.0.119.

I don't know if there is anything else on BA connected that I can change to stop this issue. So far there have been no error lights on the BrightSign to indicate that there is a problem.

Thanks for your help!

    Two thoughts come to mind:

    1) Check the bitrate of your media, if it spikes over the recommending level, it can cause the player to stutter. (particularly noticable with variable rate files)

    2) How large is the media file?

If its over 4GB and your SD card is formatted to FAT32, expect it to hand when it gets past this point. Reformat your card to Ex-FAT. Interstingly, a file over 4GB CAN be sent to a FAT32 filesystem via network publishing. You'd think it would throw it out but it only does this in standalone publishing.
