Play/mix audio realtime from DAW through multiple players

I have 10 XD234 players on their own sync'd network in a museum. I'd like to be able to stream audio from my DAW potentially via an ASIO driver so that I have a 10 channel output from my mixer, and would be able to hear each channel on a separate BS player.
This is in order to mix the audio for the room, then once happy, this audio will be printed to picture, which will then be looped over various screens. Did anyone achieve this?

    Very ambitious! :)

Wouldn't streaming over network create delays that would affect your mix?

If I had to mix in that space I'd use a good quality USB extender for the ASIO interface, so interface is in the machine room, feeding the power amps directly. If not applicable, then I'd place the computer in the machine room, and use a second computer to remote desktop the one running the DAW.

    Best of luck

    Keep us posted.

Thanks for weighing in. Unfortunately, the power amps are not racked in a server room. We are using individual amps built inside each 'scultpture' and some of them are 35 meters apart. It's not feasible to run looms like this, especially since access to some of the amps is very difficult, being encased inside the pieces.

I'd like to essentially use the BS as a D>A converter, and the network connecting them all as a pathway to stream this audio. This could be achieved with some coding and time, but wondering if anyone has already headed down this path, even part-way.

It is technically possible to say use AoIP RTP streams and fixed buffering on the players but you'd need to do a bunch of work and troubleshooting to set this up and even then there would be offsets a they aren't clocked together (unless Brightsign have made the PTP implementation usable for RTP AES67 streams) so what ever you mix typically won't play out the same.

I've done something similar before and I used the network CATx typically plugged into the player to run line level from an audio interface across the CATx with a couple of adapter leads, mix and then reinstate the network. You can also use POE Dante converters to do the same job but $$'s will be the blocker here.
