XC4055 no SSD detected?

Hi there,

I have just built in a Samsung 970 EVO plus into a XC4055 player, but when I open the settings of the player, the SSD tab is not showing up.

When I insert an SD card, the SD tab is visible.

Is the Samsung 970 EVO plus not supported on this player? Or dit I formated it wrong? (Currently it's formated with the ExFAT filesystem).

If so, does somebody knows which SSD's is supported by this player?

I thought the most NVME SSD's are supported with the BrightSign players.

    Hi, I have the same issue with a XC2055 using a Western Digital SSD WD Red SN700 M.2 2280 NVMe 250 GB. Did you manage to resolve your issue?

    Hi Eddi,

    No I didn't.

    The support ticket is still open at BrightSign and researching this issue.

    They promised me a list with compatible SSD's, but I did not received it yet......

    I just noticed with firmware 9.0.101 that they fixed some bugs:

    • OS-14593: (XC5) Fixed an issue in which the SSD is not seen by the PCI bus.

    • OS-14672: (XD5) Fixed issue with SSD recognition

    Way too late for me but better than never I guess..

    Hi Eddi Lecesne,

    Yes, this fixed the bug.

    I was in contact with the support and they send me a couple firmware versions between until the bug was fixed in firmware 9.0.97. 9.0.97 was not official released to the public. But instead 9.0.101 was the one.

    After updating the player to the latest firmware, our Samsung 970 Evo plus NVME SSD is recognized.

    So the player is running fine now.
