Any ways of getting a video in a Google Slide HTML5 Widget to play automatically?

Hi all,

This is more of a Google Slides question but I figure if there's a workaround, you folks here will know.

I'm using a single HTML5 widget in a BA:connected Presentation to load a Google Slides publish URL. This way we can turnover the Google Slides doc and there's no BrightAuthor learning curve for this client. This works great for image slides. No issues.

For another presentation/player, I have one video embedded on one slide (loading from Google Drive). In the options, the video is set to play automatically. In publish options, the slideshow is set to play automatically (URL parameter has start=true). However, the slide loads and I have to click to play. This player has no interactivity to do so.

Is there an easy way to script a mouse click say, in the center of the window/zone a few milliseconds after load?

This may not be the answer, but i've had issues in the past (not brightsign specific) with defsult browser settings preventing auto play of videos that contain an audio track. Try removing the audio track (a silent audio track wont work) from the video.

If you require the audio track to play as well, put this in a separate audio file and most browsers are happy to play both at the same time...
