Encoding specifications

Hello,

I read another post about encoding specifications for HD video on another post which said the HD 2000 or HD 110 require an MPEG-2 Program Stream with a max bit rate of 25 mbps.

I work with FCP and Compressor, and when I follow the instructions in your user guide for compressing from FCP, the software Compressor does not offer the option of creating a Program Stream. It produces an elementary stream. Is there something I am missing where I can select Program Stream?

I also shoot 720p a 29.97. Will the HD 110 play back an MPEG-2 file at that frame rate?

Thanks, Drew Harty

    Drew,

If you update to 3.1.36, the player will plan an elementary stream, but we there's a bug with elementary stream playbackk.

An mpeg1 system stream, or mpeg2 program stream, or mpeg2 transport stream would work.  You must have an older version of compressor. Some older versions of compressor didn't have the ability to generate program streams, but you should still be able to generate an mpeg2 transport stream.

    Elementary streams are mpeg1.
