Barcode Scanner application

We are about to do a development on BrightSign players for a barcode scanner application. (omnidirectionalen Scanner Quantum-E IS3480 Metrologic)

--> Video clips get there start trigger from a barcode reading


Is anybody out there who allready did such a development?
Basicly, is it possible to attache a barcode scanner to a HDxxx?
Is there a easy way to manage a database of barcodes?

    You can connect a USB barcode scanner to the unit. It works with scanners that send output over usb like a keyword. I think it's referred to as keyboard wedge.



    You asked about managing barcodes. How many barcodes would be in a playlist to trigger different videos? Is this a playlist that would simply grow over time? that is, would you only add more codes and videos, and not remove them from the list.



    You can currently use barcode input in interactive playlists (CSV) files. This support will also be rolled into our BrightAuthor software.
