IR emitter usage on HD1010

It looks like I can connect an IR emitter to control a monitor that doesn't have an RS-232 serial control connector; is this true? Thanks.

    How did you want to connect the IR emitter to the Brightsign?

    Either through the DB15 female GPIO connector or the DB9 male serial connector.  Whichever would let me control a monitor via the emitter.  Thanks.

    You can use either the gpio or the serial. Neither would require any drivers, just the brightsign sending output. So, as long as your emitter works with gpio or serial, the brightsign can work with it.
