newbie needs help on brightauthor

hello!
i have two hd 410. the files on the cards (only audio) are to be started simultaneously (conversation man/woman) with a button over gpio. another button is to switch the other files (same conversation in english). as the manual of ba is not very specific about how to do this i ask for help! i worked on other systems like roku very often, but they were only controlled by scripting-txt files. so please could someone give me some help or even a xml-file?

We'll need to either use a script or the older csv format for this. You'll also need firmware 3.2.61 from our website.

So, are there two files playing or four?

Both files can't play to the same output. Do you have the expander? Or, is one audio going to hdmi and the other to analog?

    hello lydon!

thanks for yr prompt reply. i have two hd410. there are two files playing, one from each device at a press of a button. these two playing files is like a conversation of two people. this output is mixed thru a mixing desk going to headphones etc. (museum's application). so, like i said in my first post, i want to start the two files (one on each hd410) at the same time over their gpio. with another button i want to start the second set of files (another language version) on each of the hd410. basically it's very simple, but i didn't find a way to program it in brightauthor. i did not work with this software before.

the function of my buttons is split to both the gpios of the two units. i'm sure if the files are started at the same moment, running in sync for about 8min 30sec will be no problem, the two corresponding files have the exact number of bytes and so has the english version.

so i hope, it's all clear now, and you can keep on helping me!

i will update the firmware, as soon as i work on the units again.

    thnx

    Here's a Master Script

    And, a slave script

These two scripts currently set the video to 1080p. They're just text files, so you can change the video mode.

They assume your two sets of files are called english1.ts, english2.ts, spanish1.ts, spanish2.ts.

Gpio 0 and 1 are used for the buttons on the master.

Gpios 2 and 3 are used to preload and play commands for video1; and gpios 4 and 5 are used to send perload and play commadns for video2.

many thanks for your really promt help, lydon!

i figured out a very simple way to do it in brightauthor (following a tutorial in quickstartguide...aha!). it has the basic function now, just like i wanted.

next would be functions like: start the other language file (and therefor stop the running file) or what is it doing when you press both buttons (exactly... <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->) at the same moment.

    all that safety/vandalism stuff.

if you have comments on this, pls advise.

(the customer didn't come up with it by now, but you never know..)

    btw:

a great big smile for your kind support. the better i can handle the software and the units, the more we choose your boxes and sell alot to our customers...
