Serial connection between two HD410s

Hi.
Using the BrightAuthor I have tried to make one HD410 "talk" to another HD410 using the RS232 port.
I want the second HD410 to start playing when receiving a "start" string from the first one.
If I connect the receiving HD410 to my computer and send the string "start" it does react - but not when connected to the sending HD410.
If I connect the sending HD410 to my computer I can see that it does receive a "start" string but it says that then length is 6 (len=6) ...? And when I use the computer to send "start" it says that length is 5.
I have tried to use both "Serial send string (CR)" and "Serial send string (no CR)" in BrightAuthor but none of them can make the other HD410 react.
Can anyone help me?

  IF the send from the other brightsign is of the length 6, there must be an extra space in the string sent. Can you do a file, save as, and send me your project file. I don't need the published files, just the project file so I can open it on my system.
