HD210 - RSS Feeds

I work for a Healthcare system and was assigned the task of recommending a digital sign system to use throughout our organization. I researched and found that the BrightSign HD210 product seemed to be a good solution. We ordered two HD210 systems and 2 52" LCD display boards as a pilot to post information for our Physicians. I have installed the boards and initially setup a test presentation on the local SD Cards which we are very happy with. I had network cables pulled to the two locations and having problems setting up "Simple File Networking" and RSS feeds. I have already posted a message on this Forum and received a reply and then posted a reply that has not been answered. The message was posted as "Simple File Networking Problem" so I' am posting another message with my issues. These two units are set with fixed IP addresses and I can ping the units on the network. I have temporarily currently given up on the "Simple File Networking" since I have gone nowhere and tried to get the timeserver and RSS feeds working. I tried using the url http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss which is the sample you use in the video and But I get an error message: Unable to access specified RSS feed. Check the URL or try a new one. We have a Microsoft ISA firewall proxy and my browser has no problem with the url. I searched the forum and found a message thread "RSS Feed" and he said that he resolved the issue by "The settings in our Proxy / ISA-Server was the problem. Our ISA-Server required a authentication and BrightAuthor did not support this.As our admin change the permission management, it works." The person that maintains our ISA Server can't understand what he was referring to. I can put a the proxy setting in the HD210 but then I still won't be able to add the url to Bright Author. I'm not sure how much more time I want to spend setting this up. Is there any way to get some phone support? I filled out the phone support request with no response. I am not new to networking and IP setup and this has been very problematic. Frustrated !!

See below on the simple network issue...I posted on your other thread. I'm sorry I didn't followup. I lost track of the thread. You can always reach me directly at support@brightsign.biz.

You can email me directly at support@brightsign.biz, and I can give you a call. This same address is for any brightsign support requests.

The proxy setup directions includes details for how to included username ande password in the proxy address. So, authentication is supported. With the proxy enabled, you are saying the brightsign should be able to get an internet address? I can check with one of our developers to see if there's any reason the brightsign wouldn't work with your proxy setup.

    Simple Network Response....

Normally, if the unit can't get a sync file directly, it's because it's an issue with the URL, settings issue on the server, or the unit isn't actually on the network, possibly no IP address. Since the unit does show the date and time, it should mean it has proper network access.

Maybe, this is a DNS or Domain issue. Can you replace bshome with the IP address of the server? Or, attach the domain to it. Maybe, the full name would work. For, maybe your server plus domain is bshome.mynetwork.com, for example.

In the attached zip file, you can edit the autoplay.bsp file, with any text editor, to set a timezone. Then copy the three files to your flash card, and it should set the timezone, and show you the date and time.

    Manually setting timzone
