HD 410 Newbie

Greetings to all.... I have a real newbie question. I've searched the board and havent found what I was looking for. So apologize if this has been asked numerous times. I have an HD 410 connected to a VGA convertor, attached to a projector. I want to be able to control the playback of video to projector via a manually operated button or switch. Basic play control...Start and Stop. Looking to use the control port on the front of the unit most likey, but not sure. Seeking help quickly as this needs to go into operation this weekend for a charity fundraiser. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can use the gpio control port for the button control. Are you confortable with the wiring for the button? The brightauthor project itself is easy. You can have a simple project, I can send you one, that plays a black image for the stop part. So, one button press starts video, one goes to the black image. IF you visit www.hms-electronics, they sell a db15 adapter that plugs into the gpio port and gives you terminal blocks. SO, if you don't want to solder, you can just screw down the wires from the button. They also sell some buttons at hms-electronics.

Here's the project file, and an image showing what it would look like. In this case, the video plays until someone presses stop. It starts only when someone presses the same button.

Thanks! I was able to get this far last night on my own. How do I get the video to play and then stop at the end automatically at the black screen and then start when the button is pushed again? Would I just reverse the order?

    Push button = play
Play to end, then black screen.

Click on the media end event. If you put the mouse over it it will say media end. Then, draw a connection from the video to the black image. That way, when the video ends, it goes to the image.
