Syncronized video with RSS overlay?

Would it be possible to have full screen video with an rss feed overlaying the video and then being able to change the video via the sync command? I wan't to have several HD210 (one master, several slaves) playing different videos in sync with rss feeds runing as an overlay on some of the players. If the master changes the current video I still want the rss feed playing continously. I would also like to be able to turn the rss overlay on and off at different times. Several questions at once, I know, but is it doable?

Simple answer is Yes. You can do this.

The RSS overlay over the video is easy. You can create a brightauthor project with a video only zone, add an rss feed over it on the layout tab, by adding a ticker zone. Back on the playlist tab, you can go to zone properties for the ticker zone, and set the transparency to 100%. That way you'll see the text over the video with no box around it. If you want a very faint background to the text, you can change the transparency setting.

Now, the tricky part is getting the rss zone to go away. How do you want it to go away, with a udp command? Currently, brightauthor doesn't have an option to hide or show the zone. It's not a configurable setting, but the unit supports this function. Luckily, I've already done this once for another user where they wanted the rss zone to be present one when video played, but hidden for all other videos.

In your case, I assume we'll do something similar except maybe you need to make the zone go away on command.

When would you need to see this? It should be minor changes to what I did before to get the zone to hide on command.

Thanks for the quick reply Lyndon!
Switching the rss visibility on and off via udp would be very neat, the plan is to have a HD1010 as master, controlling a bunch of HD210 via network. That way we could control videos and rss visibility both via schedule and rs232-commands to the HD1010.
We're in no great hurry for this functionality just yet, when do you think it would be possible to implement it?

It shouldn't take long but I just need to find time to squeeze it in. If you send me an email at support@brightsign.biz in a week as a reminder, that would be good. I'm going to see if someone else can take a quick look at it as well.
