No information for this release has been posted yet. Most likely the website will be updated soon with some 3.3 variant, maybe 3.3.70 or later.
Mostly, there have been bug fixes and generl performance improvemehts.

Is there any way we can get a downloadable version of 3.3.69 with updated directions? We're hitting into a project at full-steam-ahead, and right now, the other playback option is a nightmare, but we *really need* SD-Composite output. If we can test out and demonstrate this feature, then we save everybody a whole lot of pain and agony!

I don't know if the SD composite out has been tested much. I noticed it was only in one set of notes I came across. I'll post a link to 3.3.78, and let me know what you see. -

so to get the SD-composite output, would we use
VIDEOMODE NTSC-M
in the playlist, for example? -

These new settings aren't in any autorun scripts or brightauthor apps. So, the only way to use them right now would be to use a custom script. -

Ah. Can you give guidance, or would we be best off waiting until things are a little more solid? (These would be dead-simple, power on, boot up, and loop a file sorts of installations; not even multiple files or any sort of synchronization.)

I would also like to test composite output. Do you have any other information on how to set the unit to use 480i?

Ok, so I've confirmed the settings listed above should work.
Currently, since they're not an option in brightauthor, this would be done with a script.
For svideo, you would need an adapter to use the two outmost component output jacks.
For composite, yo uwould use the middle blue output jack, of the component connectors.
For the firmware, here's a link to 3.3.78 that will be posted soon.
Leo, it would probably be pretty easy to modify the autorun script used for a csv file so that the ntsc modes listed above could be used with the VIDEOMODE command. Otherwise, a script would be needed. I do also have a control script that will bootup and loop content if that would work best. -

A .csv file is a trifle bit of overkill, but easy enough to work with. There's also an indication of some of these modes also being available via the VGA port. Through one of the routine "pairs" so that we should be able to plug in a "ponytail" and find the signal(s)?

I have a control script you can use as well, that takes commands to playback content. You can set the videomode at the top of that script. I'm including a link. -

I finally found a pony-tail, and have a 410, putting out on the VGA port, and have tried a variety of monitors. Like the component, it seems as though S-video is handled on G and R (G being the Y signal, and R being the color signal.) The Blue wire handles the composite video, and the CSV solution is dead easy.
The few things I have to note; I've tried this on three monitors; one Sony PVM CRT monitor, a Sharp LCD, and an older ViewSonic LCD. The Sharp and the Sony are fine images; there are some weird artifacts in the ViewSonic's picture. I'm guessing -- note only guessing -- that it's because you don't have a 3.579545 MHz crystal generating the NTSC colorburst, and that the ViewSonic is getting confused by however you're synthesizing that part of the signal. I haven't put this into a scope yet, but that's my guess, and I'm sticking to it.
The other 'odd' thing is on boot-up, just so other people are aware, some NTSC monitors look ugly whilst the player boots up in SD-NTSC mode.
But on the whole, this is a great addition to the tools and functions available from these players.

can you explain in more detail exactly how to get composite video out? i can't find anything. even a custom .brs would be great. this is very frustrating. -

If you have an HD810 or HD1010, and firmware that supports ntsc, you can use either of the files below.
For BrightAuthor 2.2, this autorun assumes that if you choose 720x480 as the resolution under brightauthor properties, then you want to use ntsc.
Thisscriptplays all videos it can find on the flash card, and sets the brightsign to ntsc. -

could you point me to the areas to change to switch the .brs to pal-bg? ntsc sucks...
also, because those 2 resolutions are 4:3, is there any way we can get 1280x720 output via composite video? I have a gym that would like advertising on treadmills, its kind of hard to fit and expensive to buy players for 30+ treadmills, all TV's these days are 16:9 ratio, and if dvd players and set top boxes can do it surely the brightsign can as well?

if you search for ntsc-m, there should only be one setting listed. Replace ntsc-m with "pal-bg".
No, there's no way to get 720p over composite. The dvds and setup boxes aren't giving you 720p over composite. Do you mean component? The component output from the players support 720p. -

Hi all,
I've just been playing with getting PAL composite out of an HD1010, and discovered that a simple change to the autorun.xml file achieves it:
<videoMode>pal-bg</videoMode>
<videoConnector>Component</videoConnector>
gives me PAL-BG out of the center (pb) component output.
(I converted this from a VGA project - if you build it in BrightAuthor initially as a component 720x576x50p presentation, I think all you need to change is the <videomode> setting)
Hope that helps others like me - 'cause I'm rubbish at scripting!
