Problems using big video file size

Hello, I'm having problems with Brightsign units that use big sizes video files (I'm using 1GB files). These units get blocked and reboot for themself very often. is this a known problem with a solution? Thanks in advance

    It's not the file size. If it's rebooting, there's a problem with the video itself.

    If your card is formatted as fat32, you can use up to 4GB files.

    And, if your'e using exfat, you can use larger. The largest size I know of that someone has used are 30GB files.

    You can also use ntfs, but ntfs isn't supported by brightauthor currently.

    Is this an mpeg2 file, or h.264? If you create a brightsign-dumps folder on the flash card, the unit will store a file there if the firmware is crashing, and that's the cause of the reboot.

    Please upate to beta firmware 3.3.78 and retest.

    Some units have mpeg2 and others have h264.
    About the 30GB files size, should I use ext3 format to be able to use this video file size? I thougt that BrightSign units were limited to use up to 4GB SD card but maybe that's because of a FAT32 SD card format?. is it possible to use bigger size SD cards with ext3  format? Which is the bigger SD card that a BS unit can manage?

    it's the file system, not the brightsign. So, if your flash card is formatted ext3 or ntfs, you can use any file size. IF you are using brightauthor, then you have to use exfat. Currently, the brightsigns can't write to ntfs. So, if you were playing content using a script, then ntfs is fine. With brightauthor, one of the first things that happens at startup, is the master script attempts to copy the project file which wouldn't work on ntfs.

    Can you provide more details about the files, and the problems you're seeing?
