Downloading files and renewing files

Hello! May be you can help me with sample script or advice: Player need to show few jpg files full screen, let`s say 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg each for 5 seconds and repeat until UDP command from server is received. When UDP command is received, player should automatically download new versions of files from server, replace existing files with them and start to show new ones - over and over. Players are Brightsign HD1010w. There will be same pictures on 8 players, there are no need for perfect sync between them. Thanks!

    I haven't had a chance to test this fully, but you can give it a try. This script should be published with a brightauthor 2.2 project. You should open the script with a text editor, and change the current downloadurl that's set to a generic www.mydownloadserver...., to the actual webserver folder where your images will be.

    I've set the udp command to "update"

    So, just create an brightauthor playlist, then change the type to Interactive. Also, add a generic udp command to the interactive project it doesn't matter what it is.

    I can't get it working. Can i use BrightAuthor 2.3 for it or only 2.2?

    Few more questions:

    1. How i must use that custom script? I tried to add it as custom script in project with few jpegs and one udp command. Is it's right? If i don't put custom script in same project, udp command is working.
    2. What firmware version should i use? I tried every combination with BA 2.2, 2.3 and firmwares 3.5, 3.7

    3. What type of publishing i should use? I tried all three.


    Please try to answer asap.

    No, this file I sent was a modification of 2.2 only.

    To use a custom script, you can either attach it to a project, by going to the file menu, to properties, then autorun, then custom. Or, you can copy it to a flash card to replace the autorun.brs on the card, after you publish your project.  You can use this 2.2 autorun with ba 2.3.

    If you're using 2.3 brightauthor, you must use firmware 3.7.



    Use this script by itself to clear the registry on your unit, and then try publishing agian from brightauthor 2.2.
