In my experience you have to rotate content before it gets to BrightAuthor. So once I receive a 'poster' to go up on the six portrait mounted screens we have in our lobby, I save the file, open it in an image editor, rotate it 90 degrees (could be -90 for your setup), save the file. Then I use BrightAuthor to add it into a playlist.

Oh wow, sorry. I haven't a clue about the older models.
Though something tells me the same logic applies, you probably still need to rotate the content before you load it onto the flashcard for the player.
