Time comes up wrong

Hi I've been having a problem with the clock displaying a couple hours behind. I've selected the correct time zone and I've turned the 210 off and on a few times to see if this would remedy the problem. No luck. What am I missing? Have I overlooked a setting? Thanks.

If your unti is networked, then most likely udp port 123 is blocked and the brightsign can't get to the external time server.  If the clock is not set, it displays as all 8s.

Networkable BrightSigns like the HD210 and HD1010 will set their time automatically if they have access to the Internet, assuming the port used to set the date and time, port 123, isn't blocked.

For any unit with a real time clock, you can manually set the date and time using a script, or the files below. Please read the included directions for editing the autoplay.bsp text file to set the date, time, and timezone you want to use.

Hi we have networked Units but ours are configured to not have a internet connection, so they cannot get to the Brightsign Time server.

Can i use a local NTP server ?  i have put in   10.160.0.3   which is our Domain Controller, instead of http://time.brightsign.com,   but i dont know if its the port being blocked or if its your units are not accepting the address,e.g. it doesnt/must  have "http://******" formating?

    Thanks

    Hi Daniel,

Yes you can use a NTP server.

Valid time server syntax strings are as per below:

    http://time.brightsignnetwork.com/
    https://time.brightsignnetwork.com/
    ntp://time.brightsignnetwork.com/
    time.brightsignnetwork.com

    Regards,

    ntp://10.160.0.3  should work.
