Nesting Playlists

Hey there, I was wondering if there is a solution to what I am trying to achieve. So here's what I'm trying to do: I want to nest playlists. For example: I create a playlist ("playlist 1") that contains 5 video clips each 2 minutes long. After that I create another playlist ("playlist 2") with 3 still images and 1 video file in it. Now I'd like to schedule my playlists so that "playlist 1" is interrupted by "playlist 2", so that after a defined time periode "playlist 1" stops playling (preferable after the current video clip has finished), then "playlist 2" starts playling (either again for a defined time periode or till all elements have been shown/played) and afterwards "playlist 1" starts where it has been interruped before. Is that posssible within BrightSign or is there a workaround? Thanks!

You can't do this with brightauthor, but you could with a custom script. We're looking a this ability for BrightSign network scheduling but it's not available yet.

Sure would like to see that also.  1 zone to multi zones and back to 1 zone and so on.  Any idea when this might be possible?

Yes, agreed.  Greater control over the playlist would be a good thing.  I think customers envision a system that mimics broadcast as much as possible.  You might as well throw in basic transition effects between nested playlists and zone changes.

Have there been any updates on this topic?

I need to have a multi-zone layout up for a series of videos and stills, then switch to a fullscreen layout for a video.  Then it needs to switch back to the multi-zone after the video plays.  Is this possible with Brightauthor or BrightSign network?

You could try and use the BrightAuthor command that resizes zones, and dynamically change the size of the video zone.

If the video zone is layered above the rest of the zones, then when you switch to full screen, it would cover the rest of zones, which you don't need visible during full screen playback.

    I hope that helped

You can switch from one presentation to another:
    http://support.brightsign.biz/hc/en-us/articles/218067307-How-do-I-switch-presentations-or-change-layouts-in-BrightAuthor-

If you need less delay or more-complex functionality,  you can stay within the same presentation and reconfigure zones with Other>Resize Zone and the Widget-Hide-or-Show plugin (or native function in BA 4.4+)

Ok, I've got switch presentation working.  However, there is a lag when we switch from my multi-zone presentation to my full screen one.  When it switches I hear the audio from the video right away, but the picture is black for about a second then pops on.  Is there a way to set a playback delay to allow the zones to switch fully before the video starts?

Is it possible to do this with Dynamic Presentations in Brightsign Network?
