The HD600 plays back hi-definition images up to 1080i, but only supports standard video. It can scale standard video up to 720p. It sells for $299.
The HD2000 supports full HD video up to 1080i. The HD2000 also has an HDMI port. The highest quality video output on the HD600 is component. These are the two differences. It sells for $499.
You can use any software to create content for either the HD600 or HD200 so no special software is required. Your content just needs to be authored in a supported format.
