You can't currently telnet to the unit, we we are testing the ability to send commands via UDP to the unit.

Are you interested in sending commands, so another means of interaction? or, do you want to be able to log into the unit.

    Hello,

i would also be interested in sending commands to the unit as well as login in. Is there any plan for the futute to release a NetworkManager for local networks without access to the internet?

    with best regards!

We have a "simple networking" script that allows you to do updates from an HTTP server on a local network.  Lyndon can send it to you if you want it.

We will also be releasing the BrightSign Network Manager in an install package for customers that want to install it on thier own Windows Server and run it on a local network.

that's excately what i would like to do.

Serial communication is fun, but you're restricted when using multiple units.

Maximum cable length of serial cable, amount of serial ports etc. I could workaround the maximum cable length by using serial over UTP solutions.

But that's way over the top.

Just connect all the units to a networkswitch en send the commands using udp.

Then I could use a touchscreen panel computer with a software interface and networkconnection to control the players.

    MacGoof,

Please send me an email at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:lallydice@roku.com">lallydice@roku.com</a><!-- e -->. I have a couple custom scripts that you can use to test sending and receiving UDP commands. I don't have an updated autoplay file yet that would support udp send/receving in an interactive playlist.
