HD1010 and the Elo E210772 - loses USB connection

The HD1010 connected to the Elo E210772 loses its USB connection if the USB cable is disconnected and reconnected or if the touchpanel's power is cycled. I also noted that the "Y" coordinates are intermittently reversed. This occurs with firmware version 3.0.13 and the "Interactive Demo 1024x768 VGA."

    I'll check and see you're supposed to be able to disconnect and reconnect the touchscreen and have it work. The touchscreen should still work if it's powered off and then back on again.



    what's really odd is the y coordinates being intermittently reversed. How often does that happen? Does it occur after the touchscreen has been disconnected and reconnected or power cycled?

    I will wait for your response to the USB problem.  As for the intermittent Y coordinates flipping, I suspect it may have been caused by first using an old version of your interactive demo, and then the latest version.

    The touchscreen behavior is expected. Removing the USB connection will interrupt communication between the two devices.

    But if the end-user switches the touch-panel off and on, the connection will be lost and will not reconnect without a reboot.  Do you not agree this is a problem?

    Yes, this is a problem. But, it's not one we have a solution for at the moment. It will be addressed in a software update.

    Not sure how exactly but it seems that the fix would be for the USB to be aware so that when something is plugged in and/or unplugged the USB port senses this and acts appropriately.



    Conversely the USB port should also be able to sense the power state of the device plugged into it so that when a device is power recycled the USB notices the interruptions and then reconfigures itself and the device accordingly.



    Last but not least another great feature would be to have the USB aware of the exact device plugged into it for configuration purposes I'm not sure I understand if the USB port is supposed to be intelligent regarding peripherals per se.
