No sound from mpeg2/dvd

Another issue I just realised I have is that there is no sound coming from the audio output from the HD1010. I did a straight copy of the vob file from the dvd, renamed it to .mpg and played it from the harddrive to test the sound and can hear it fine. Once it goes into the brightsign via the author, I dont hear any sound. The cable has been test and works with other devices. I've tried videos from two separate dvd's, both run the video fine, but both have no sound at all. The figure for volume was set to 100 with no success, then to 50 with no success. Im not sure if im missing something or this might just not be working.

Kind regards

Khai

IF the file plays fine on the computer, with audio, then it could be that the audio encoded is ac3. The compact doesn't decode ac3, but passes it through over HDMI. So, you can connect a receiver to decode, your you can change the audio from ac3 to mpeg.

how do you change the audio from ac3 to mpeg inside the .vob file?

One simple program I use to do this is mpeg-vcr from womble. Youc an download it, 30 day free trial, and change the audio easily. It takes seconds to make the change.
