Help me get started

Hello,
I'm new to BrightSign so I need some help getting started.

I have a pretty simple project I'm working on. I am making digital menus for a Mexican restaurant. The customer has 3 identical 170p displays all side by side. I am controlling each one with a 2010. Each display has different menu items (text) and a few zones with pictures of food that will transition between his different menu items.

So far all of that is very easy. BrightAuthor makes this a breeze. My customer just threw me a curve ball though. The background of the menu is a nice looking "adobe" texture. What we want to do keep the same texture but have it change color every 10 seconds or so. Again, that's easy, I just make 2 different .jpgs and use the built in transitions to make it work.

Here is where I am having trouble. How do I get all the backgrounds to transition at the same time on all 3 screens? It's looks a bit strange to not have them synced up. Is this even possible with 2010s? If so where do I start?

We can synchronize the players so they change at the same time. This can be done easily using BrightAuthor. Are you using it already, or a custom script?

Pretty much, all we're going to do is send a UDP string to the other players letting them know it's time to change images.

I just got back in town.

Yes I am using BrightAuthor. Is there a guide or manual to get everything synced?

I started a thread with screenshots for sync...

Will be uploading videos shortly that cover different opics including sync.

It is possible to synchronize the transitions across all three screens using the 2010 players. You'll want to use the "Synchronize" feature in BrightAuthor. Here's how you can approach it:

    1. Network Synchronization: Make sure all your players are connected to the same network. This allows them to communicate with each other.

    2. Set up a Master-Slave Configuration: Designate one player as the master and the other two as slaves. In BrightAuthor, you can set up synchronization commands to trigger actions like background transitions at the same time on all screens.

    3. Sync Event: In your project, add a Sync Event for each background change, ensuring that all screens will transition at the same time.
