HD 2000 problems because of AC power loss

Hello,

I'm the network administrator for the Klimahaus Bremerhaven, a science exhibition center in northern Germany.

We're using a whole bunch of Brightsign Roku HD2000 players in our exhibition (more than 100) to feed projectors and LCD and plasma-TVs. In order to turn our whole exhibition off during the night, we're basically turning the AC power off in the evening and turn it back on in the morning to restart our exhibtion.

Lately we are experiencing more and more problems with our Roku players. Sometimes they don't start immediately after we turn power back on in the morning (in that case we need to manually restart them), some of the players have already failed completely.

I am wondering, if this increasing number of errors might be the result of turning AC power off, while the player is still in use? But since the HD2000 doesn't even have a power on/off-switch, what other way is there of turning the device off?

It's possible the units that have failed have a faulty power adapter, and we can send replacements. For the units that sometimes don't work, what exactly is happening when you try to turn them on?

I had the same problem with 4 HD2000 units in similar installations.  New power supplies from Roku fixed the problems.
