Video Encoding

I on a mac here trying to encode an h.264 transport stream for playback on the HD1010. Are there any directions for doing with with Apple Compressor, Adobe Media Encoder, or another program?

Also, for the H.264, the file extension should be .ts correct?

So far, i am not having very much luck.

Thanks
Dan

Yes. .ts should be the extension.

Do any of those programs actually support encoding h.264 as a transport stream. May programs do not, and only support mp4 or mov wrappers for h.264. I don't think compressor supports h.264 in a TS wrapper.

You can try creating h264 mov files and using vlc media player to convert the mov to ts. There's an option in vlc to stream to a file, and to skip the transcoding of your video, and only change the encapsulation from mov to ts.

I will do some more research into creating the .ts.

VLC created a file that distorted my video and changed frame size, plus the encoding was really awful.  Screenshot posted for you to check out:

I will keep experimenting, but if you have any other ideas for PC or MAC it would be very welcome.

    Thanks

I'm a Compressor user myself and there is a setting in there for mpeg2 transport stream. Once you get the file you do need to manually change the extension to .ts.
