BrightAuthor - Can Events in one Zone control another?

Hello,

I am trying to create a basic interface with Bright Author and the aim is to have one zone with all the control buttons in and then 4 others with a variety of content. This would then be controlled by a touch screen. I can see that if I add a touch event to an image it requires me to enter the next state. How could I set it so that the state of the controls zone stays the same but another zone (image1) is changed?

    You can't do this with BrightAuthor 1, but it is a feature in BrightAuthor 2.0. Is this for an evaluation?

    Yes, this is possible. You can use the Zone Messaging feature to coordinate playback across different zones. One zone will send Zone Message command, other zones will listen to that Zone Message to play something unique. Zone messaging allows to send commands from one zone to another. This is documented in the BrightAuthor 3 user guide.

    You can open your touch event, click on advanced, add a command, and use send zone message.

    In your other zone, you would then listen for a zone message event the same way you listen for a touch event in the other zone.

    You can send any message you want, a number or letter or word, so long as what you're sending is what you're looking for. That's all that matters.

    This demo plays 2 zones of travel-themed content in which the main Video Zone is linked to the Image Zone via Zone Messaging. When the Video Zone plays videos of particular city, the Image Zone plays images of that same city.

    I have been working on the same type of project. One zone that has permanent buttons for navigation. With the help of @Alex i was able to successfully adjust a separate zones play file. 

    However, once i push the button, it changes the state of the separate zone, but then the buttons do not work again. I am missing the function to keep the buttons active after the initial Touch Event. 

    If i hit the touch screen button area to go to a new picture in zone 2, i cant hit another button to change that zone picture.
