HD1010: no picture, twitchy, jumpy, freezes, locks up ?
Hello. I am new, so the problem is most likely something simple that is my fault but I cannot get a picture to display when I connect my new HD1010.
I connected it using component cables (red, blue, green) to my 55" Samsung LCD television.
I used the Bright Author software to create and publish to my SD card. I inserted the SD card, then plugged up my HD1010, selected the Video input source on my tv ... but there is no picture! I also selected "component" as the source in the Bright Author software.
On my Samsung the AV2 source is "highlighted", meaning the tv knows something is plugged in to that input, but the tv just displays the message: "searching for signal" and nothing ever appears.
The Bright Author software installed the autoplay file, I check to make sure it was on the SD card.
The HD1010 power light is on but there is no picture.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
---------- UPDATE ----------------------
Okay, it did start working on its own. Once it was plugged in it just took about 1 minute before the picture was displayed - like it had to "warm up".
I was not giving it enough time before I unplugged it and tried something else, so that problem is solved, but ....
Now the picture is "jumpy" and at the end of each video there is about a 1 second period where the last frame of the video "freezes" - almost like it "locks up" at the end of each video before it starts to play the next one.
All of my videos (commercials) are .mpg (MPEG2) DVD quality. They were produced with Vegas or Power Director.
On my other media players there is no "twitchy" or "jumpy" effect and the transition between files is seamless, but with this new HD1010 unit I am still having some learning issues.
Can you offer any advice as to why the commercials are "twitchy" or "jumpy" and why they appear to "freeze" or "lock up" at the very end of each one?
---------- UPDATE ----------------------
Okay, another update ... I was using a 4GB SDHC card. I have upgraded to an 8GB card and it has reduced the "freeze" or "lock up" at the end of each commercial, but it has not eliminated it.
Even with the 8GB card it still does not finish playing the full commercial, it is stopping about 1/2 of a second before the actual end and then moving on to the next commercial. The "freeze" is reduced but it is still stopping for a milisecond, cutting off a small amount, then playing the next commercial.
Any ideas or help on why this is happening?? How to correct it?
As for the "jump" or "twitch", I have set the Bright Aurthor software to output at the highest resolution with a refresh rate of 29. I also set it to p (progressive) which I think helped - before I had it set to i (interlaced).
I have also upgraded to an HDMI cable, whereas before I was using component and I upgraded to the 3.2.61 beta firmware.
-------------------------
So, in summary, the only real issue that still exists is the chopping-off of the last 1/2 second from the end of the commercials.
It still "freezes" but it is only for a split second- but it is cutting off just a little at the end of each commercial - again, the commercials are produced in .mpg MPEG2. There is no sound, video only.
If anyone can offer any ideas as to why this is happening please let me know.
Thank you!
Jamie
