displaying a web page (SharePoint) ?

Apologies for such a newbie question, but I am looking for clarification and/or confirmation of what capabilities BrightSign has to display a web page? I am exploring the feasibility of using a BrightSign HD210 in place of a regular PC to display a SharePoint web site (or any other web site) on a large LCD TV, using either VGA or HDMI outputs. I have read that BrightSign can upload content files from an httpd source, but it is isn't clear to me whether it can just display the content of an existing web server. No user interaction required, but it would need to refresh regularly. Seems like a simple thing... am I over-thinking this?

  We don't render html currently, so we can't diplay web pages. We can get information or files from a website, but we can't display the html.

  It does seem like a simple thing.  Maybe time to look at another solution.

  Now that HTML is supported, is there a mechanism to pass credentials in order to access a secure webpage to be displayed (in my instance SharePoint)?

  I know this is an old post, but I have not been able to find any information as to the updating of the client to be able to display actual Web pages, internal sharepoint sites or Power BI sites.

  It seems this question has been asked for quite sometime now with no answer.

  Does anyone have an answer for this?

  There was an update a few years ago that included HTML5 media object.

  Not sure if it works on Sharepoint sites. 

  I've been using it for a while on very basic internal web pages.

  Jacob Smith  - I have been playing with the HTML5, but I am having trouble with Web Pages (links), I can play a saved HTML5 document no problem.

  I am looking for any information as to what the proper configuration required to make the device connect to internal and external web pages.

  Any direction would be appreciated.

  Scott,

  I'm using a pretty old version (4.6) of the BrightAuthor, so apologies if yours looks different.

  Running the presentation on a couple Brightsign HD3.  I don't use the Brightsign network or any of their cloud stuff.  Setup files are loaded from a the flash drive.

  Hope that helps - I know it can be frustrating to get answers from BS support.  (irony)

  Jacob Smith - One last question, The devices require a network username and password to access the internet internally and externally. Where would one add the username and password for the device? I am using the XD234 device.

  Unfortunately, I'm not sure on authentication part. 

  Our BrightSign devices use fixed I.P. addresses on our network, and our network guys put them in group that doesn't require user authentication.
