Video Wall Questions

Hello, I have to put together a 2x2 video wall. Typically I've done this with a video processor, scaling, hardware/software and AMX control for control. I'm considering doing it with BrightSign. However, I'm new to BrightSign. How does that work? Two scenarios: 1) The video is 1920x1080 and would loop. Would I need 4 Brightsign units? I'm assuming they would sync. How does each unit process it's own quadrant of the video? Would I have to pre-process the footage into quadrants? 2) I have 4 videos at 1920x1080 and would like to introduce a small touch panel for users to choose the videos. Would I need 5 Brightsign units? I'm assuming they would sync. How does each unit process it's own quadrant of the video? Would I have to pre-process the footage into quadrants? How is the touch panel implemented. Thanks

Checkout this video on multiscreen sync...
    http://www.brightsign.biz/tutorials.php#MultiSynch

We recommend preprocessing the videos. That way you can use our BrightAuthor software to setup the sync, and each unit can use the full resolution if necessary.

On the second case, again we recommend prepocessing the video. Is the touch panel like an amx or crestron controller? You could connect one of those directly to the master brightsign. Or, do you mean a small touchscreen?

Thanks, when you say pre-process, am I breaking up each video into 4 sections and rendering them out for implementation? Secondly, with regard to controllers, it could be AMX or Crestron, but what about a small touchscreen? Could we use a touchscreen?

Yes, breaking the video into 4 pieces.

It couldn't be a small touchscreen if it was the same brightsign as the master. You could use an HD410 connected to a small touchscreen, or a standalone touch controller connected to the master unit.

So if I go with a small touchcreen rather than a controller like AMX or Crestron, I can use the 410 connected to the master and author a front end graphic and interface to control the master from the 410, which intern would act like a AMX or Crestron Embedded  controller?

Hi.  I'm researching a video wall project and picked up on this thread.  Can you please suggest any suitable software applications that could be used to pre-process a video into quadrants for playback on the individual players/screens.  Thanks.

I can not find software to Pre-process video into files for a video wall.  I would think you would have some options right on your website but I can't find anything anywhere. I have even tried Googling it and still nothing.  maybe somebody can help with the correct term to use to find a program to do this.
