Viewing images from IP cameras?

I am creating a system that will allow visitors to a wildlife centre to view images from inside a burrow. I want to be able to use a series of IP cameras and allow a visitor to choose which camera they are viewing. I am almost sure that this would possible with a Brightsign HD1010w but it would be great if anyone could provide me with some advice regarding an appropriate solution. Thanks.

The brightsign would be used with a touch overlay that allowed the user to choose which camera they are viewing. The user presses a button and the brightsign links to the camera at a specific IP address to display its feed in a window. My assumption is that it is similar to linking to a live website or RSS feed but things are not usually this simple.

    I understand.

While we can pull data from URLs, like a website, we don't display hmtl currently, nor do we do video streaming yet. I don't have an eta for that functionality.

We'll more likely have video over rss before we have video streaming. ARe these cameras putting out h.264 streams?

The cameras can output H264 streams.
It could also be possible to achieve the desired result by using a video surveillance device and sending it RS232 commands to select different camera input but the ability to stream live video feeds would be ideal.

you could re-encode the feeds from cameras and send them to a roku xd  via a custom private channel.
it would be pretty easy to create some custom brightscript code allow you to choose which camera you want. look at nowheremans private channel nowheretv you could do something like that but with links to different camera feeds instead of internet feeds.
check out my post called "how to stream anything on your hard drive to your roku" and change the stream source from a local file to the url for the stream from the camera. then just run one per camera you want people to be able to stream.
    just a thought.

for the touch screen you could run an android tablet and one of the roku remote programs and hook the roku to a lcd.
