SD CArd Over Head

Is there a rule of thumb for planning SD card size? I notice the RSS Media "Get" seem to get logged onto the card my customer weather image data files. Could the unit run out of space or is it programmed enough to not allow that to happen? What happens if I try to push down more data by mistake than the SD card could hold. I send down a 2 gig file by mistake and that pushes the card over the limit? Will the BS 210 disregard the download and by pass the video in the feed? Will it blink a red err light and go dead? thanks

No, there's no rule of thumb for sd card size. You want a card that's big enough to hold what ever you're going to put into the schedule. So, if you're scheduling different projects to play, and you schedule 2 weeks at a time, then the card should be able to hold 2 week's worth of content.

RSS feeds are cached, and the unit automatically deletes files that are old if room is needed.

The same is true of content you download. If you publish a new project, and space is needed, the player will delete content that's not part of any scheduled projects.

The unit should not run out of space unless you try to publish to the unit more content than it can old. This would be active scheduled content. for example, if you had a 2gb card, and published more than 2gb woth of content, and all of that content were in currently scheduled/active projects, then the unit would be unable to download all of your schedule.

If you try to download a file that's too large, then the player will start downloading, and send errors back to the server when it finds it can't finish. You can change what you have scheduled and the player will switch to the newly scheduled project.
