HD1010 Crashes - Help wanted!

I'm working with HD1010 on an interactive prensentation where the viewer can call up pages/movies with a touchscreen device. My problem is, that the presentation stucks after a while. i can call up all movies and it never stucks twice at the same movie. Sometimes i can touch a hundred times before it stucks and sometimes it freezes after a few clicks. There is no red light flashing on the device. I'm totally helpless. I've already tried different movie formats, like mpg2, mpg1 ... I'm working with BrightAuthor 2.208 and i use the latest update 3.378. Does anybody know where the error might be? Do you think it is a device error, something in the compiled code or is it a wrong movie format? Is there a possibility to see where the application crashes? It'll be great if somebody could help me, 'cause I'm pretty despaired..

Which version of brightauthor are you using? Can you upload the brighauthor project file? The "stuck" state is random?

when it gets stuck, does the video stop playing? On the flash card, you can open the autorun.brs file in a text editor, and set debugon and loggingon to TRUE. That will create a log.txt file on the flash card that might have some useful info when it gets stuck. Is there any set of steps that can consistently duplicate the problem, or does it seem random?

when it gets stuck, is it at end end of the video, or in the middle?

I use BrightAuthor 2.2.028. The log.txt file is no help. The crash appears at different movies, the problem seems totally random.
the movies mainly are stills with a footage of 1 sec./25frames. i tried mpg1 and mpg2 formats. i thought it could be a matter of size, so i first made mpg2 movies with 2mb, then i tried mpg1 movies with about 500-700kb, but it didn't solve the problem. i'm working on a mac. could it be a problem that i use parallels to emulate windows? or could it be that i use to many links, so that the device can't handle it.

We have customers that use paralells. That wouldn't affect playback.

What do you use to create the files? I have customers that play one second videos without any problems.
Please send me an email at support@brightsign.biz. I have another firmware release I want you to try since 3.3 doesn't help.

My HD1010W keeps crashing with video, very random. I have tried all video formats per the instructions. I have reduced the video size and it still happens. The video is much less than your recommendations for data rate. Newest version of firmware also. Any help would be great.

Are there any files in your brightsign-dumps folder? Could be a bug, but seems odd that it exists on all the releases you've tried.

Nothing ever in the dumps folder. Video just crashes and machine reboots. Been having better luck with the .wmv for whatever reason.

Can you send us a link to one of your videos? I didn't see if you'd tried any of our sample content from the quickstart kit or the demos page.
