Images Loading Time

Hello, I am in a show control environment and am needing still images (JPGs or whatever format it needs to be) to load up on command, just like the video files do. The images take 1 to 2 seconds to come up after the command is issued to the player. Is there a way to fix this? I'm currently using JPG's that are 1920x1080 and file sizes range from 100k to 600k. Thanks, Jonathan

Out of curiosity, what program are you using to save the jpgs, and what settings are you using? I'm a Photoshop nut, so I might be able to help you a bit on compression advice if that's the program you use.

I am using Photoshop CS4. But I just tried compressing the heck out of an image, down to 76kb and still the same exact amount of time to load the image. I also went the other way, and made a BMP (no compression) and still the same thing.

Okay looks like you know what you're doing then . I'll let one of the Brightsign gurus help you from here on out ... My only xp is on the PS end of your problem

    Good luck,

Image load times can be slower on the brightsign. Bitmaps load the fastest. Given the size of the images, I would convert them to video.

Well, with the xd player, you can have two zones that play videos, and you can designate one video as the top, and one as the bottom. You can put text and html over video as well. Also, if you're using the livetext object, you can put text over images, and a media rss feed over a background image, and with that media rss feed, comes text as well, so you can do text over image using a feed.
