Firmware update = pixelization?

I recently updated a handful of 110 and 220's with firmware update 3.5.68 so I could have .mp4/.mov support. I've noticed something happening with the quality of the playback after this though. I'm going out of a 110 with HDMI into a Sharp Aquos LC46D65U and there is a visible quality degradation after the firmware update (same file on a non updated 110 looks great on another identical TV right next to it). I've tried playing it as a .mpg and .mp4 and it still looks terrible. It's a single file dropped on a 4GB SD card. Anyone have an idea? Many thanks, Daniel

    ARe you scaling down the video?

    The brightsign doesn't scale down as well as it scales up, and we recommend against scaling video down. Customers had been reporting video glitching when too much memory was in use. We reduced the amount of resourced dedicated to downscaling to get rid of the glitching during playback. So, if you're comparing 3.5 to an earlier release, and your downscaling video, like playing 1080p conten tat 720p, then you might notice some drop in quality.

    If you aren't downscaling content, we would like to know what firmware release you were using before, and also to get a sample of the content.

    Shouldn't be downscaling as I'm playing 1080p on a 1080p tv.  I used the settings template given in the FAQ for creating MPEG2 files in compressor.  Not sure on the previous firmware version I was using (3.1?), probably hadn't updated them since March of last year.

    Is there any chance I could get an older version of the firmware to make some tests?  Whatever version was current march of 2010.
