SD vs USB flash drive anomoly?

I am successfully playing back video from an SD card on a BrightSign HD1010, running 3.5.77. I can also successfully play back .mp3 audio from a USB flash drive on the same unit. The odd thing is that if I put that exact same .mp3 audio file onto the exact same SD card (after deleting all other files and emptying trash on the SD card), it will not play back. Any ideas? I'd like to make this installation totally SD card based, so that I don't have a protruding USB flash drive present. Best, -Ken

    To clarify, the installation will include 4 BrightSign units, one playing back a video loop (with no audio), and 3 playing back 3 different audio loops.

    Are the files just playing in the root, or do you have a script, or is this with a brightauthor project?

    There might be some issue with the default script in memory that automatically loops content. I would recommend using our authoring software, BrightAuthor to create the playlists you're playing on each player. The only thing you need to remember to do is to set the audio output to hdmi or analog depending on where you want the audio to go.

    I thought (maybe incorrectly) that BrightAuthor only ran on Windows machines - I have a Mac.  Can I create the playlist manually?  I just need to make an infinite loop with automatic startup on power-up of a single .mp3 file on the SD card, with output to the audio port.

    In any case, is it possible to get that default script, which I assume is in the 3.5.77 firmware, corrected?

    It was easier to just change one of my scripts to play mp3s to analog output.

    Use this script to play your mp3s.

    It will play any number of mp3s in a loop. Just unizp and copy the autorun.brs file to a flash card, and power up.
