video format: I give up

I need help finding a way to get video to my Roku600.

I am fully firmwared up. It plays .bmp's just fine. mpeg1's that are 320x200 with audio play great, but look terrible.

I can't get any mpg2's to play. I use os X so I saw on the forums I could use .vob's from idvd? I made an idvd..I took out the .vob, but it has no audio? My presention had audio when I play it in idvd test. How do I take advantage of IDVD to make an mpeg2 or .vob that is muxed with audio?

    Which video output are you using, and to what kind of display?



    Your mpeg2s must have audio, at 48khz.

    Their max resolution is 720 x 480

    It must be a program stream, not an elementary stream

    And, the brightsign expects the extension to be .mpg or .vob



    Your dvd folder/project are going to have separate audio and video, vob. Do you have compressor? You can use compressor to mux your vob and it's accompanying audio file back together.



    You can use imovie to create an mpeg4 video, and then use streamclip to covert the mpeg2 to mpeg2.



    There's also a utility you can download called mpeg2 works 4 that you can use to merge an mpeg2 and audio file. Using imovie to create an mpeg2 normally gives  you two files.



    If you also have a pc, there's a utility called mpeg2vcr. You can download a 30-day trial. You can also use it to merge a separate audio and video file.
