Audio stops playing

I just put in 3 hd600s, one last week and 2 on Monday. The video and audio was working fine when they were installed. I got a call yesterday that the audio had stopped on all 3. The video was still looping just fine but no audio.

The kiosks are not warm where the hd600s are installed. The hd600 is the only equipment inside the kiosk. The video is playing as an autoplay file and was copied from a vob file on a DVD supplied to me so the audio should be 48khz. These are new hd600s, having waited 2 months for them to arrive, so I assume the software on them should be the latest version but I haven't checked. All are running the same video using the same type of compact flash card.

When I unplugged the hd600 and turned it back on it fired up and the audio was back. All 3 did the same thing. Unplug and audio returned. Is this a known problem while running the hd600s 24 hours a day?

I have a 4th hd600 that was purchased several months ago that I did update the software on. I fired that up in our shop yesterday and the sound is still working 24 hours later. I will leave it running over the weekend and see if it has the same problem.

Any suggestions as to what would be causing the problem?

Which audio output are you using? What is the brightsign connected to?

What else is connected to the brightsign?

Yes, the units should have the latest software. You can verify the software version by starting up the unit without any flash card inserted.

I haven never heard of this issue on any software release. I'm checking

The one in the shop just had the sound stop as well but video is still playing. About 26-27 hours before it quit.

Video output is by the vga connector.

Audio out is to a pair of Creative powered speakers. I just used "audio 3" since it was the default output with sound when I fired up the first time.

Nothing else is connected. The hd600 is vertically mounted with supplied mounting hardware with power in and the audio outputs down. The air holes are clear.

The only files on the compact flash car are autorun.bas (no changes from download) and autoplay.mpg

Can you verify there's no audio coming out of the other outputs on the brightsign? If possible, can you please upload your video file to our ftp server, and we'll try and duplicate the problem..

I am uploading the autoplay file.

I changed it to a VOB file over the weekend. Same problem with the sound dropping out after a long period of time. Sound is only on audio3.

    Thanks,

I ran it over the weekend as 2 identical video files with different names called from a .bsp file.

No problems yet so I think I at least have a work around.
