I tried to search for an answer, but wasn't able to find one. If there is an existing topic, please forward me to it.

I'm interested in the USB audio feature of the HD600. I have a couple questions about it.

Do both USB ports support USB Audio?
Can you switch between the two ports for an A-B demonstration, via the control ports?
Does the USB Audio support all makes and models (is it a universal protocol)?
Does it display the track info on the speakers (if equipped)?

Thanks for any info you can give.

    Yes - both UB ports support audio. Though in the current implementation it's more a case of 'either port' as we only support one set of USB speakers. However, read on...

    This functionality isn't currently available in the released software, but the unit is capable of this.



    > Does the USB Audio support all makes and models (is it a universal protocol)?

    Yes it should - though we don't do sample rate conversion, so if a set of speakers only supports 48kHz and a 44.1kHz MP3 is played then the audio will sound sped up.



    > Does it display the track info on the speakers (if equipped)?

    This is custom to each set of speakers and there is no standard - it's not part of the USB audio spec. But it should be possible to do this.
