Better mpg2 encoder?

I'm working on a three screen HD panoramic museum exhibit. We are using the HD2000. I've been encoding my Quicktime files through Compressor on a MacBook Pro. I have an Intel MacBook that I want to use so I can continue editing on the Pro. I don't have FCP or Compressor installed on this new machine. Is there a good, fast mpg encoder other than the one in Compressor?

  Do you mean a free mpeg encoder? There are a couple utilities I know of for the mac that do encoding, but I don't know how fast they are.
  
  
  
  There's Streamclip, and Mpeg2Works 4.

  I don't mind paying for something. Actually, I have use of a couple of PC laptops that I might use if you can recommend the correct encoding software. My problem is that I have three streams of HD (per part of a 20 minute, 4 part exhibit) that have to be rendered out separately. I just thought if I got the QTs cooking on several computers, I could keep editing in FCP and I'd get finished in a quicker time.
