Creating video TS files

Im not sure if this has been covered in another post but.....
I have a number of HD 2000 operating ( these are excellent)
As the exhibitions change regularly there are a number of times that a simple looping player is all that is needed. To that end I have a number of 110 and 410 players.
There is a very usefull "how to create content for the HD 2000" but no equivalent for the TS video files requireed on the 110 and the 410s.

So here goes.
Using Final cut and compressor ( as in the HD2000 how to) select MPEG2 Transport stream in compressor ( as opposed to the Programe stream in the HD2000 how to) this will create an M2T file (I beleive). I have found an number of converters that will then convert to a .TS file. However I have also just discovered that if you simply rename the extention of the .M2T file to .TS

This works.

Not sure how this works I'm still a little light on knowledge of the difference between the two file formats.

But it does work.

By the way check out MPEG STREAM CLIP as an option. it seams to do a similar job and it will opperate in a PC environment.....and its FREE

Hope this helps

    Nigel,

Thanks for the post. The .m2t file is actually a transport stream. That's just the extension that some programs use vs .ts.

So, no conversion is required for the .m2t file.

If you upgrade your unit to the 3.1 firmware, it will play program streams, .mpg and .vob files.

ts videos converter - thus software convert ts files to any video formats and create HD ts video from most common videos. It serves as TS decoder and TS encoder. Just have a try.
