create mpg2 from either FCP or Compressor

Hello, I have a 16:10 screen and I need to play a 16:9 film. I want the film to fit the screen with no cropping. In other words it should play with small black bars top and bottom. My UK stockist has suggested we create an MPG2 of 1280X768 at 60p for our BrightSign HD210 players. Is this the right method? If so, what are the best ways to export an MPG using FCP or Compressor to achieve this? If the above method is not the best work flow then what is? Thanks in advance.

The brightsign does support 1280x768, although it's not yet a setting in BrightAuthor, but if this is a fullscreen project, we can change the playlist after we publish it. Are you planning to set the brightsign output also to 1280x768?

I dont know if final cut is flexible enough to let you define your out resolution for the content you're outputting. Can you create a custom profile in final cut>

in FCP you can make a custom output resolution, just change the settings of your time line,
or when exporting adjust the size in the export options
