Enabling Power Save Mode on HD210

My HD210 display schedule function is working fine, but the monitor (new 40" Sony, Bravia connectied via HDMI) does not change to standby power when the presentation goes to off. The Sony's option for HDMI power control is set to on. I see there is a scrtipt for Powersavemode control of VGA but no mention for HDMI. Is there a script I should run to control this function in the HD210? Peter Cassidy

    If you're using BrightAuthor 2, I have a modified autorun that allows you to use this function. To use it is easy. You have to create an interactive playlist for playback. If you open an image or video, for example, click advanced, you can select the SerialSEnd (no cr) command and add either PON , for power save on, or POF, for power save off. That command will be intercepted in the script, and the monitor will go into standby (PON) or come out of standby (POF).

    The examples below show the string in use. You you can use serialsendcr, and not the linkzones command.

    Lyndon --
    I assume the logic is set the timeout equal to the length of time you want the presnetation to run; e.g. 8am-6pm is 10 hours so timeout will be set to 36,000 less a few seconds. I assume the "pon" command needs to be sent before the presentation is stopped by autoschedule at 6:00 pm? The Timeout command is "Serial-sending string (no CR)" with parameter set to "pon" causing the display to go into standby.

    My question is what is the event to trigger the starting command "Serial-sending string (no CR)" with parameter set to "pof" to get the monitor to come out of standby? The information regarding when to start the presentation is in autoschedule.xml; e.g 8 am S, M, T, W, T, F. How do I link this information to the "pof" command?

    No, the timeout is irrelevant. What you would do is create project that only did one thing, play an image, for example, and send this serial command. You would do the same for power on, and power off. So, schedule the power on project for one time, the power off for another, and your regular playing project in the middle.

    The timeout was an example. You can send that command when the file plays, under advanced.

    Thanks for the explanation. That helps. How do I publish multiple projects to the same device so they can run automatically in sequence? The way I'm doing it now, common files like autoschedule will get overritten.

    Lyndon -- Hold on my last question. I think I see how to schedule multiple presentations.

    Lyndon -- The suggested Power on and Power off scripts are not working. I used a Timeout event on a image. I get a red flashing error light when they play. The Sony Bravia does not change to stand by mode.

    The regular program plays between the Power Off and Power On as scheduled. However, there is no audio on the video unless I cycle the power on the Sony. Seems it wants the HD210 powered first.

    Peter,

    What version of brightauthor do you have? I can send you an updated version. Please email me at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@brightsign.biz">support@brightsign.biz</a><!-- e -->. This should fix the power save issue.

    As far as the audio, if the monitor wants the brightsign on first for audio to work, I guess that's what has to happen. I assume the display doesn't support serial control?

    Send me an email at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@brightsign.biz">support@brightsign.biz</a><!-- e -->.
